Brand deals with orgs like PayPal, Predator, etc. R6 Esports wants to portray R6 and Ubi, by extension, in a particular manner. It comes down to brand association more than anything imo. Is this proof that the public is ok with this kind of sponsorship, therefore it should be allowed? ![]() We even have a flair on this very sub to talk about betting. Is this the price of having morals or a stupid hill to die on at this point?Įven with the prohibition we have streamers and pages on twitter that are sponsored by this kind of site, something that also was happening in Valorant. Of course, it isn't without a negative side too, is it worthy to expose viewers (including minors) to something that could ultimately ruin their lives just to get a quick buck, so we can stay afloat longer?īut does it matter? Bigger games like CS already do it, even Riot could be looking into allowing it in Valorant according to Noyn. With the empty schedule, nightmare scenario that games like R6 are going through, could this bottomless pit of money that are these gambling sites be a salvation for the professional scene? Problems that are also present in Valorant to some extent, but you can't find in CS or DOTA ![]()
